Chi è esattamente un "esperto di autodifesa"? - What exactly is a “Self-Defense Expert?

• Calciare all'inguine.

• Mordere.

A few days ago, Business Insider posted a video in which Gabrielle Rubin, presented as a self-defense expert, showed like a woman should defend herself against a strangle from behind. Eli Knight, Royce Gracie black belt,  commented this video on Facebook:

"What exactly is a “Self-Defense Expert?” There is apparently no criteria other than self-appointment of this title.

With respect, using the method of attempting to defend from a standing rear choke shown in this video is very dangerous. Here are some serious issues with the tactics she mentions:

• Stating “Never to focus on...” the most dangerous element of the attack

• Elbowing the attacker in the hip from a very weak angle

• Foot Stomping the attacker whose arm is around her neck

• Kicking the groin

• Biting

• Stating that “you don’t need to run...”

I don’t know this individual’s background or experience. It’s possible that she used this exact sequence to successfully defend herself in real life. If she did, she was extremely lucky. The likelihood in a smaller person using this sequence of “techniques” to defend herself from this type of attack is low.

Expert or not, if you are a self-defense instructor, you have a responsibility. Stop with this kind of stuff please. "

In this video Eli Knight shows how to effectively defend ourselves from someone trying to strangle us from behind.
